How to use PDRN serum: morning or night, order and frequency
Partager
The PDRN Rose serum can be used morning and evening. Apply it to clean, dry skin, after cleansing and optional toning, but always before your moisturizer. Use a few drops (2 to 4) and gently press them into the skin. It has a light gel texture that easily integrates into a daily routine: it supports skin hydration and plumpness, without replacing your cream or your morning sun protection.
PDRN Serum: Morning or Evening?
Both. The PDRN Rose serum has an odorless, non-sticky gel texture that is suitable for both morning and night. In the morning, it prepares the skin and leaves a fresh finish under makeup. In the evening, it is applied to perfectly cleansed skin, a time when you take the time to let the treatments penetrate. If you prefer to limit it to a single application per day initially, prioritize the evening: the routine is often more complete and less rushed.
Should PDRN serum be applied before or after cream?
Before cream, always. The rule in skincare is to go from the thinnest to the richest. The serum is lighter than the cream: applied first, it penetrates without obstruction; the cream then seals in moisture on top. Here is the typical order:
- Gentle cleanser
- Toner or essence (optional)
- PDRN Rose Serum
- Moisturizer (e.g., PDRN + Collagen Capsule Cream)
- Morning only: sun protection (SPF)
To understand each step in detail, consult our guide on the Korean routine order.
How much PDRN serum should be applied?
A few drops are enough, about the size of a small coin. Place 2 to 4 drops in the palm of your hand or directly on your face (forehead, cheeks, chin), then spread without rubbing. Pat with your fingertips until the gel is absorbed, without forgetting your neck. Applying more does not provide any additional benefit: the excess would remain on the surface and could cause the cream applied afterward to pill. A well-dosed serum should be forgotten once absorbed.
How often should PDRN serum be used?
Every day. A cosmetic treatment like PDRN is judged on regularity, not on the amount applied at once. If your skin is reactive or has never used this type of active ingredient, start with one daily application in the evening for a week, then switch to morning and evening if all goes well. Consistency over several weeks matters more than occasional intensive use. To understand what this ingredient really is, read our page PDRN, what is it.
How to layer PDRN serum with other active ingredients?
The PDRN Rose serum already contains niacinamide and peptides, so it easily combines with the rest of a routine. Some guidelines:
- Hyaluronic acid: perfectly compatible. Apply hyaluronic acid to slightly damp skin, then PDRN, for a plumped finish.
- Niacinamide: no conflict, no need to stack sources; the niacinamide in the serum is often sufficient.
- AHA/BHA exfoliants (like Zero Pore Pad): space them out. Use the exfoliant on another evening, or PDRN in the morning and the exfoliant in the evening, to protect the skin barrier.
If in doubt about combining with retinol or a strong active ingredient, introduce one product at a time.
What errors to avoid with PDRN serum?
The most common: applying it to skin still wet from rinsing, which dilutes the product. Pat your face dry before. Also avoid mixing it in your palm with an acidic exfoliant on the same evening, skipping the cream afterward (the serum alone does not hydrate), or expecting results in two days. Finally, never replace your morning SPF with the serum: sun protection remains essential.
What to expect after application?
Immediately after, the skin appears fresh, slightly satiny, and more comfortable, without a greasy effect. The pink gel is odorless and does not sting. Over weeks of regular use, the skin may appear smoother and plumper, with a radiant look upon waking. As each skin reacts differently, perform a patch test on the inside of your elbow 24 hours before first use, and seek professional medical advice if you have very sensitive skin or any doubts.

Both. Its light, odorless gel texture is suitable for both morning and evening. For a single daily use, prioritize the evening on well-cleansed skin.

How many drops of PDRN serum should be used?
Approximately 2 to 4 drops, spread over the face and neck with gentle pressing motions. Any excess remains on the surface without additional benefit.
